SUMMARY:Webinar Wednesday: Small Business\, Big Advantage: Using IP to Create Competitive Advantage
DESCRIPTION:Intellectual property (IP) isn’t only for big corporations. Small businesses can play smart and use IP to their advantage. This session aims to make IP relatable\, practical\, and useful for entrepreneurs. \n\n\n\nJoin Felix Yuen (he/him) from Fruba IP Law on the 11th of September\, 2-3 PM ET as he takes us through IP and why it is important. \n\n\n\nWe first go through together a few questions to uncover the intangibles that make your business unique. Some of these can be turned into legal rights. We will make those rights easy to understand and clear up some common misunderstandings about IP. We’ll also look at some hot IP issues for small businesses: using AI tools\, navigating social media content\, managing open‑source software and contents\, and protecting trade secrets when working with others. We will leave plenty of time for Q&A. \n\n\n\nKey Takeaways \n\n\n\n\nEasy pointers to make sense of IP in plain language.\n\n\n\n\n\nA checklist to help identify and assess your intangibles.\n\n\n\n\n\nInsights into current IP issues: AI\, social media\, open source\, and so on.\n\n\n\n\nAn opportunity for a free follow-up consultation to discuss your IP questions. \n\n\n\n\n \n Our Team \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Felix Yuen (he/him) \n\n \n IP Lawyer u0026 Strategist \n \n \n \n Fruba IP Law u0026 Strategy \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Felix Yuen (he/him) \n\n \n IP Lawyer u0026 Strategist \n \n \n \n Fruba IP Law u0026 Strategy \n \n \n Felix specializes in innovations\, digital media\, and information technology.

SUMMARY:Webinar Wednesday: No Filter Needed: How Clarity & Openness Build Your Brand
DESCRIPTION:Let’s be real: these are weird times to be running a business in Canada. Markets are unpredictable\, funding isn’t always flowing\, and most days\, it feels like the only certainty is uncertainty. As 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs\, we know what it means to build something in shifting landscapes—we’ve always had to be creative\, resilient\, and ahead of the curve. But even the most adaptable businesses hit moments of doubt. \n\n\n\nWhen things feel uncertain\, it’s easy to default to what looks like confidence—polished messaging\, big promises\, the whole “we’re absolutely thriving” routine. And listen\, we get it. But here’s the thing: real confidence doesn’t come from putting on a show. It comes from clarity. From being able to say\, Here’s where we are. Here’s where we’re going. Want to come with us? \n\n\n\nIN THIS WORKSHOP\, WE’LL WORK TOGETHER TO: \n\n\n\n\nClarify what’s real: Not everything in your business needs to be figured out to be worth talking about. We’ll explore how to share your story in a way that acknowledges uncertainty without getting stuck in it.\n\n\n\nShare your story with confidence: It’s not about having a perfect elevator pitch. It’s about learning to talk about your business with clarity and openness\, so the right people can find you (and trust you).\n\n\n\nBuild momentum through truth: Confidence isn’t something you’re supposed to already have. It grows over time—when your messaging is clear\, aligned\, and actually feels like you.\n\n\n\n\nThis workshop is practical\, energizing\, and designed to get you moving. Through guided exercises and strategic insights\, we’ll help you refine how you talk about your business—so your brand story supports your growth instead of adding to the pressure. \n\n\n\nBecause you don’t need to have all the answers to be worth listening to. And you don’t need to wait for certainty to start building something real. \n\n\n\nYOUR FACILITATORS: \n\n\n\nParker Green McLean (they/he) & Jarren MacDougall (he/him) are the co-founders of Harc Creative\, a brand strategy and storytelling studio that helps businesses find clarity\, confidence\, and creative momentum. As a married duo and longtime creative collaborators\, they know firsthand how powerful (and sometimes terrifying) it can be to tell the truth about where you are and where you’re going. \n\n\n\nThrough their work\, they help entrepreneurs and organizations own their stories\, sharpen their messaging\, and build brands that feel like home—so that the right people can find them\, trust them\, and invest in what they’re building. \n\n\n\nRegister below and a Zoom link will be sent to you closer to the event. \n\n\n\n\n \n Our Team \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jarren MacDougall (he/him) \n\n \n Co-founder \n \n \n \n Harc Creative \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Parker Green McLean (they/he) \n\n \n Co-founder \n \n \n \n Harc Creative

SUMMARY:Navigating D&I In the Tourism Industry (ACOA)
DESCRIPTION:This training is funded by the Government of Canada through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA). This event is free and open to anyone across Canada. \n\n\n\nThe global 2SLGBTQI+ travel market is valued at more than US$200B annually. Canadian destinations are well-positioned to grow their share of this market.
