DESCRIPTION:October 1 to October 31\, 2022\n\n\n\nCCQC and Brainspired Publishing (a partnership of INspired Media Inc.\, leading community media publications and platforms\, and CCQC diverse supplier (www.inspiredmediainc.ca) are celebrating October as Book Month\, and will be taking a look at the work of Canadian 2SLGBTQI+ authors through various events throughout the month.  \n\n\n\nThe Book Club\n\n\n\nThe Book Club starts on October 1 and concludes at the end of the month. \n\n\n\nCCQC has selected “Breaking Free\, 45 Years in the wrong body” by author Joelle Circé Laramée as the featured book. This is a great book\, as well an important book\, to get a better understanding of the journey of transitioning. Here is what one reader wrote: \n\n\n\n“I couldn’t put this memoir down and looked forward to reading it every day until I sadly finished it. I think everyone should read this book. What a woman. She lovingly takes you through her journey from childhood to now- all of the struggles and triumphs; her artistic process and transitioning into the woman she was born to be. She addresses important issues on transphobia\, discrimination\, otherness\, mental health and misogyny in society. It is heartbreaking and enlightening\, funny and smart\, honest and emotionally intelligent.
