CQCC is pleased to continue working with the Honourable Rechie Valdez in her new capacity as Minister of Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) and Secretary of State, Small Business and Tourism. We look forward to continuing our work with the federal government to meaningfully advance 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurship. We are particularly happy to see the return of the Minister of WAGE in Prime Minister Carney\u2019s cabinet, and to see small business and tourism have a necessary seat at the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Canada\u2019s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce, we lead a network that represents more than 100,000 2SLGBTQI+ owned businesses, and are working to build a more inclusive economy. We know that the portfolios of Women and Gender Equality and Small Business and Tourism go hand-in-hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we reflect on world events, it is more important than ever to highlight the contributions of 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs to our economy and our nation. With ongoing attacks on 2SLGBTQI+ rights and increased economic uncertainty, we are pleased to see the Government of Canada acknowledge the importance of the Women and Gender Equality ministry, and to have Minister Valdez step into this role as an advocate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are grateful for our partners at all levels of government, the Rainbow Registered program, diverse suppliers, and many other supporters who strengthen our work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La CQCC est heureuse de continuer \u00e0 travailler avec l’honorable Rechie Valdez dans ses nouvelles fonctions de ministre des Femmes et de l’\u00c9galit\u00e9 des genres (FEGC) et de secr\u00e9taire d’\u00c9tat aux Petites entreprises et au Tourisme. Nous avons h\u00e2te de poursuivre notre travail avec le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral pour faire progresser de mani\u00e8re significative l’entrepreneuriat 2ELGBTQI+. Nous nous r\u00e9jouissons particuli\u00e8rement de voir le retour de la ministre des FEGC dans le cabinet du Premier ministre Carney, et de constater que les petites entreprises et le tourisme occupent enfin la place qui leur revient au c\u0153ur du processus d\u00e9cisionnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En tant que Chambre de commerce 2ELGBTQI+ du Canada, nous sommes \u00e0 la t\u00eate d’un r\u00e9seau repr\u00e9sentant plus de 100 000 entreprises d\u00e9tenues par des personnes 2ELGBTQI+, et nous travaillons \u00e0 la construction d’une \u00e9conomie plus inclusive. Nous savons que les portefeuilles des femmes et de l’\u00e9galit\u00e9 des genres et des petites entreprises et du tourisme vont de pair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c0 l’heure o\u00f9 nous r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissons aux \u00e9v\u00e9nements mondiaux, il est plus important que jamais de mettre en lumi\u00e8re les contributions des personnes entrepreneures 2ELGBTQI+ \u00e0 notre \u00e9conomie et \u00e0 notre nation. Avec les attaques incessantes contre les droits des personnes 2ELGBTQI+ et l’incertitude \u00e9conomique croissante, nous nous f\u00e9licitons de voir le gouvernement du Canada reconna\u00eetre l’importance du minist\u00e8re des Femmes et de l’\u00c9galit\u00e9 des genres, et de voir Mme la ministre Valdez assumer ce r\u00f4le en tant que d\u00e9fenseur des droits des femmes et de l’\u00e9galit\u00e9 des genres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
