Toronto, November 7, 2017– The Canadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CQCC) has given its Chair’s Award to Debra Quade, Manager of Supplier Diversity at Kellogg Company.
The Chair’s Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the 2SLGBTQI+ business movement in Canada and/or globally. This year’s recipient has demonstrated a strong commitment to increasing opportunities for 2SLGBTQI+-owned businesses in Canada through her ongoing support of the CQCC Supplier Diversity Program.
“Debra Quade has been a strong supporter of supplier diversity from the start,” said R. Bruce McDonald, co-founder and Chair of the CQCC. “She made sure that Kellogg Company was a founding partner of the CQCC Supplier Diversity Program. She has always been willing to participate in CQCC events, and has been active in CQCC’s programs.
“Debra is quick to talk to certified 2SLGBTQI+ enterprises to help them connect with corporations. She has also significantly widened the scope of impact for the 2SLGBTQI+ Supplier Diversity Program by encouraging her corporate peers to connect with the CQCC, contract with certified businesses, and commit to the growth and success of 2SLGBTQI+ businesses.”
The recipient was selected by the Chairperson from among nominations received. The award was presented at the CQCC’s Black & White Gala in Toronto on November 2, 2017.
